Sassy

Tonight, I cut 6 inches off of my hair.  I have been wanting to do it since about July or August.  Since I was in a wedding a month ago, I decided to wait until fall.  And tonight I did not let myself talk me out of it.  Did that sentence make sense? Anyways, my SIL turned me on to this super cute fashion blogger who I have been following for the past year or so.  She recently cut off her long locks, too.  And her new do is exactly what I have been wanting to do with my own hair!  So tonight, I sit on my couch and I feel sassy.

PS- Oh, and my husband does not know I did this.  He will see it when he comes back into town.  Hehe.

Great I Am

This is by far the best worship song ever. Ever. Ever. Ever.  It's power is overwhelming.  It brings me to tears every time.  It stirred great emotion in my husband the first time he heard it.  There is no power in hell for any who can stand before the power and the presence of the Great I Am!

Good Luck Charlie

I was laying in bed flipping through the TV channels today and came across the most beautiful girl in the world, other than my nieces of course.  Her name is Mia Talerico and plays "Charlie" on the Disney Channel show, Good Luck Charlie.  I watched the whole episode just so I could stare at her.  Lately, I have really been in love with the name Charlie for my little girl one day.  We would name her Charlotte but call her Charlie for short.  This is at the top of my baby name list people so no one take it! :) Oh I hope she looks just like her! Almost, but cuter if that's possible.  Lord, work your magic and give these two blue-eyed parents-to-be-someday a blond, brown-eyed beauty!
Mia Talerico aka "Charlie"

Oh, and I have like 100 baby names on my list that I keep on my phone.  When I hear a cute name, I jot it down.  Mia is one of them.  Ironic.

Sleepy Head

I have slept ALL WEEKEND LONG.  And I am still SLEEPY!  It has been so nice to lay around the house with my man and do nothing.  I wish I could do this forever.  Sunday night always has to come too soon.  Waah! :(

Post Retreat

This past weekend, I attended my MIL's women's retreat, Reflections.  We focused on relaxing and feeling beautiful inside and out.  It was awesome.  Thank you to my wonderful MIL for hosting such a restoring event.

I had a lot of fun hanging out with my SIL's.  I have the best ones around.  And of course snuggling my niece, Lylah Ruth.  She even performed in the Talent Show doing Jazzercise at a whopping 3 months old.  It was the cutest thing ever.

The food was amazing and the facility was out of this world.  Oh and not to mention how stellar my chair massage was!  I am going to have to make that a regular occurrence.

My quiet times were moving and spiritually energizing. Well, the entire weekend was.  I left there feeling alive, rejuvenated and beautiful.  It was the perfect weekend that I really needed.

At the end of the retreat, we each received a "Message in a Bottle" where we went off alone to read our special note.  Mine was about having faith through changes in life!  Next, were tears.  So many.  Just what this doubting spirit and heart needed.  Thank you Lord for speaking to me.

My Friend

We visited San Angelo over the weekend to see our family.  I got to bring part of that family home with me! We brought my precious nephew, Michael David, who started calling me his friend today. :)

Today he went to school with me.  He woke up at 7:20 am with a big smile when i peeked over his pack-n-play.  We went potty, brushed teeth, combed hair and got dressed.  Then it was time for milk and grapes and some Yo Gabba Gabba.

We hopped in the car at 7:40 and headed to Aunt Mushies school!  We walked in and he was shy.  He saw new friends eating cereal out of cool, blue bowls and had to do the same.  Then he was intrigued by the cool sounds of little boys playing on the touch screen computers.  Before too long, he had an audience of little boys itching their way to the front to see what Michael was playing. We then went outside for bike riding and sand castle building.

Next, we traveled inside marching like ants, one by one for Circle Time, Art, Centers and Science.  Michael used shapes to make a house and loved it!  Especially when he got to use the big glue bottle.

We had a taste test in Science where he got to taste different things and picked the one he liked the best.  Of course, he picked the candy.  You should of seen his face when he tried the mustard on a pretzel! :)

Then it was off for lunch and nap.  He ate a PBJ sandwich, goldfish, grapes, mini vanilla wafers and a apple juice box.  He then laid down on his cot right by me and I cuddled him to sleep.  He is so sweet!

When he woke up, we went outside again where he learned to ride a scooter and loved chasing Mushie on one.  Also, I discovered he an obsession with the water fountain.

This afternoon, he was my little helper and assisted me in hanging a giant paper football in the hallway.  He loved pulling the big tape off the dispenser.  When we were finished he watched The Mouse and the Motorcycle on the Smart board.

Last it was time for cooking class.  We made pretzel sandwiches with peanut butter, crackers and pretzels.  He enjoyed them!  We went outside for another few minutes before heading home to see Uncle Mattie.

We went swimming with his little boat.  He was splishing and splashing all over the place.  So cute.  He started calling me his friend.  It was so funny.  He must of heard me say that a lot at work today.  Mattie brought us Chic-fil-a down to the pool where we ate dinner and then we head up stairs for bath time, skyping with mommy and daddy and bed time.

I love this kid!

Eating grapes and watching Yo Gabba Gabba  about to leave for school.

Loved the computers!

Cheese!

Good job buddy on the trikes!

Circle Time where he got to go up to the board with Ms. Cristen and help her make the calendar.  He liked her.

Building a sand castle.

Some much needed rest.

Lined up and following directions with the big kids!

Good job today buddy!  Aunt Mushie is so proud of you.

I Heart Friends

So, Matt and I are obsessed with the TV show, Friends.  I mean we are crazy freaks when it comes to this show. (Him more than me I must say.)  Any who, we are so excited that our fav comedy comes on six times a day!  Yes, we watch it for three hours. Every single day!  And we have 110 shows recorded on our DVR.  I told you, we are nuts!

We know every episode by heart.  Matt and I haven't admitted this to one another but we are secretly in competition with each other to see who can say the most lines before they are said.  I kick his butt.  Or at least when it comes to Ms. Green.  Yep, Rachel's my favorite.  I know every single one of her lines.  I am pretty sure I have copied her hair and wardrobe the whole ten years it was on air and the seven years post show.   Ross is my other fav, his character got so funny as the show went on.

Some our favorite moments are when they reference to Monica's favorite drink twice...about five years apart.  A scotch on the rocks with a twist.  That's part of the greatness of the show.   Consistency.  And when Rachel and Chandler are eating the cheesecake off the floor in the hallway and Joey walks up and sees them and then pulls a fork out of his jacket and says, "Alright, what are we having?"  Classic.  And don't even get me started on when Rachel and Chandler are helping Ross move his new, large, very white couch up the stairs.  "Pivot.  Pivot.  Pivot.  Pivot.  Pivot."  Love it.

This show makes us wish we lived in New York City and lived across the hall from our best friends.   I want to move their one day and open a coffee shop, Central Perk.  It would look identical to the shop on the show.  I love the burnt orange couch and the super cool cappuccino maker.   And all the Friends cast would be there on opening day to cut the ribbon.  Just an idea.

This show holds a place in my heart.  I grew up watching this show.  Now I am married and enjoy it with Matt.  Thank goodness he adores it as much as me.  To our future kids: we can't wait to share our obsession with you one day.

Wheel of Fortune

My husband wants me to go on the show Wheel of Fortune.  He thinks I would win bank.  I am crazy good at the puzzles.  I'll think about it...

Show Off

On Friday night, we had a school luau at work.  We had games, food, a dance floor and a bounce house.  It was a lot of fun...until I thought I was invincible.

For some reason, I was feeling like I was 13 years old again and got inside the bounce house and did a flip to impress everyone.  BIG mistake.  When my flip rounded out, my neck and head flew forward almost hitting my knees.  I remember thinking at that point, 'Did I just give myself whiplash?'  I felt sick for a couple hours after that with nausea and being lightheaded.  I took some medicine and it passed.

When I woke up this morning, my neck was unbelievably sore and stiff.  I have woken up sore before in my back, neck and shoulder blades but never anything like this.  When I got up to use the restroom, I told Matt that something happened to my neck over night.  This is not just from my pillow or bed.

I have been on the couch all day, lying down, resting.  But I haven't been able to relax or get comfortable.  My head has been hurting off and on.  It hurts to move.  It hurts to lift or turn my head.  It really hurts when I go to stand up.  Hopefully, it is just soreness and works its way out.

All day, I have been wondering why I am hurting so bad.  And then at 10:00 tonight I remembered flipping last night.  Now, I feel kind of old.  It's like my body failed me for the first time or something.  I am not a teenager anymore, I'm 25.  (Everyone older than me is probably rolling their eyes right now.  You are thinking, '25 isn't old'.  But it is when you want to flip in a bounce house.) I can't flop all over the place like I used to.  Lesson learned.
